Today I am applying for a job that I could love. I'm going to hand deliver my packet containing 1 compelling cover letter (let's hope anyway, that's what they specifically asked for), 1 resume and 1 completed application. It is the first job I've applied for in 10 years that does not require a portfolio. I included the link anyway :) I think it helps contextualize everything I've done and a part of who I am. This job involves working for a gallery...art...art and more art! I would be teaching again! So anyway, if you have a minute, think a happy thought for me...I REALLY want this job (and I think I would rock it!).
In other news, I'm finishing up a logo and business card design for a local retail store. It will be awesome to see my work up on their building as their signage :). I also got an inquiry about another logo design! Going to try to set up a meeting next week.
I have been working with a former co-worker from the current day job who left for better pay, but can't in good conscience continue in the pay day loan field. I've done some web design/production work for him. He's an SEO wiz, so if you have SEO needs let me know and I'll connect you. I should probably do a follow-up post that calls out all the awesomely talented friends I have who have businesses or do work that can benefit most.
And then of course it's Friday! We're heavily engrossed in preparing for our son's trip to Japan at the end of the month. Exchanging dollars for yen, stocking up on memory cards for phone camera and point and shoot camera...making sure he has the right clothes and luggage and anything else we can think of. I'm taking the week he's gone off so I can finish mudding, taping, priming and painting his room. I also hope to finish the living room and kitchen. I'd really like to get some art on the walls again :)
So in closing, happy thoughts, new job, art art art and have a great weekend :)
