But he's obviously a very very important person in my world.
After I finished college I was seriously burnt out on art creation. Plus I had an 18 month old and was essentially a single mom even though some might try to argue otherwise. I met Jason when I was 30. I'd been meeting people on various online dating sites for 5 years at that point. I'd made some friends, had a few short relationships and by 30 I'd decided that I was done. I was ready to turn my focus to art and my kid. The same week I'd made that decision I met Jason on a funny little site called hotornot.com :) I figured we'd meet and at worst: I'd have a cocktail and get home early and best: I'd have a new friend.
We went to the Lava Room which is now sadly closed. We talked for hours. Then we went to Chubby's on Broadway for breakfast :) and then he kissed me in the car on the ride back to his place. It's a good thing too because I had friends at best in mind, never expected he'd be interested beyond that :)
So anyway, he's a partner in life and in art...the "idea man" :) He comes up with ideas all the time and then I take them and put my twist on them and create. It wasn't until we were together for realzies before I had time to make art again.... And I should point out that he is an artist, designer, architect and just all around talented person in his own right.
But I tell you time, the best gift ever :)
Jason, I love you.
Happy birthday :)
